Family Wants Me to Go Back

My daughter (only child) will be a freshman in high school next year.  My husband would be happy if I went back to work. He's been tellling her (in a way that sounds like he's kidding but I know he's not) that if I go back to work we'd have more money to buy her clothes and let her do more things next year.  She thinks this is great and tells me that she'd be fine if I go back (something she's always been against).  I haven't worked since she was born so I'm not sure what kind of job I could even get.  I also feel like these are important years for me to be there for her. Should I give in just to be able to buy her more things or should I wait until she graduates and earn money to help her out in college?
